Are you ready to enjoy some fresh air and sunshine? Drag your kids, friends, and/or significant other off the couch and head for the Jordan River Parkway Trail. It's a paved, multi-use trail that's perfect for lots of different activities, and it's paved, so it's accessible to everyone.
The Jordan River Parkway stretches 45 miles across the Wasatch Front, from Davis County down to Saratoga Springs.
The trail runs alongside the Jordan River, and the river views are fantastic.
You'll also catch plenty of mountain views on this trail.
You'll travel through parks, past neighborhoods, and through pretty meadows.
The trail is paved the entire way, making it accessible to wheelchairs, walkers, strollers, and more. Pretty much everyone can enjoy parts of this trail, and since it covers such a great distance, odds are that there's a trailhead not too far from your home.
The trail goes under highways...
...and over bridges, so you won't need to worry about dangerous traffic, and you can cross the river with ease.
The Jordan River Parkway is perfect for exploring, and you'll want to watch for wildlife along the river, too. More than 200 species of birds call this river home, and you're certain to see several on your adventure.
Cyclists love this trail because it's an easy ride, and there are no cars to watch for. Just make sure to use a bell or call out to pedestrians as you pass.
You'll even find bicycle stations at several points on the trail.
Take your kids for a walk, take your dog for a walk...
...even take your horse for a walk!
Just make sure to pack out anything you bring with you. Please don't throw down your trash, and make sure to clean up your dog's mess. Volunteers remove thousands of bags of trash from the parkway every year. Let's keep it nice and clean for future visitors!
Check out a map of the entire trail on the Jordan River Commission's website. If you're looking for a cool hiking trail, check out the Bonneville Shoreline Trail.
