Farm-to-table restaurants are a big deal all across the country; people love the idea of getting the fresh food, locally-sourced. Some restaurants are even located right on the farm! We've written about Hell's Backbone Grill, in Boulder (and highly recommend it). In the northern part of the Beehive State, there's a hidden gem you probably haven't heard about - Gibbons' Green Gate Farm. Take a look!
Gibbons' Green Gate Farm is in Smithfield, about seven miles north of Logan.
The farm is located at 4680 N. 800 W. in Smithfield. The address is a county address, so it can be tricky to find. Click on the map for directions.
Drive down this pretty little lane to find the farm.
The dining room is upstairs, in the carriage house.
The restaurant mainly serves weekend breakfast on Friday and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to Noon. You don't need a reservation - just show up hungry.
Offerings include seasonal items such as apple waffles, fresh farm eggs, bacon and more.
Join the farm for special dinners held on Friday nights. The menu is set each week, and you must get your reservations online in advance. Each week's menu includes a salad, entree and dessert - all prepared using fresh, seasonal ingredients.
Gibbons' Green Gate Farm is a real working farm, with sheep, chickens and cows.
Wildlife is common on the farm. Look out the window, and you might spot a pheasant.
The delicious food and incredible views make this little restaurant a place to definitely add to your dining list this fall!
Check out this video posted on YouTube to see what it's like to enjoy breakfast on the farm!
