Utahns have plenty of options when it comes to swimming spots. From local public pools and water parks, to swimming holes surrounded by natural beauty, you can choose from all kinds of different places to splash and play. There's a spot in the Beehive State that offers a one-of-a-kind swimming experience, and you'll find it in Midway.
For a swimming spot unlike any other, head to The Homestead Resort in Midway. The resort offers guest rooms, suites, and condos for overnight stays, a golf course, restaurant, and two swimming pools. For the most unique swimming experience, you'll want to book some time in The Crater.
The Homestead Crater doesn't look like much from the outside. It's just a 55-foot-tall, dome-shaped mound with grass and plants growing on it. To find the hidden swimming spot, you'll enter through this door...
...then take a short stroll through the underground tunnel...
...and emerge at a dock that floats on a large, geothermal pool.
The hole in the top of the dome lets light shine down on the water, which is nice and warm, averaging between 90 and 96 degrees Fahrenheit.
You can swim, splash, snorkel, and even scuba dive in this pool. In fact, you can get scuba certified here!
Sign up for a 40 minute swim, soak, or snorkel session, or scuba dive for an hour-long session. Prices start at just $15 for swim sessions.
You don't have to be a guest at The Homestead Resort to swim and play in the crater. To make reservations, call The Homestead Resort at 435-657-3840, or send them an email.
The Homestead Crater is open Monday through Thursday from noon to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This might just be your new favorite swimming spot!
