We had a very mild winter in Utah this year, but we still can't help but get excited about spring. It's time to get outdoors and play, and we've compiled a list of 11 of the best places in the Beehive State to visit. We've already featured each of these places before, so click on the link in each description for even more photos and details.
1. Potash Moab Scenic Byway
Spring is the perfect time to take a scenic drive, and the Potash Moab Scenic Byway is one of Utah's best. The byway is about 18 miles long, and it follows the Colorado River most of the way, so you'll enjoy some truly scenic views.
2. Wild West Playground, West Jordan
The Beehive State has lots of parks, but you'll find one of the best playgrounds at Veterans Memorial Park in West Jordan. The Wild West Playground has tons of fun, Western-themed features that help kids mix imaginative play with physical activity.
3. Lake Powell
You could spend weeks exploring the side canyons and coves of Lake Powell, and there's no better way to do it than by renting a houseboat. 4. Lagoon, Farmington
Lagoon is now open for the spring, and you'll want to plan a trip asap. During April and May, the amusement park is open on Saturdays and Sundays. Spend a day riding the coasters, checking out Pioneer Village and making some family memories.
5. Treehouse Museum, Ogden
Some spring days are chilly and rainy, but that doesn't mean you can't still get out of the house for a fun afternoon. Head up to Ogden and visit Treehouse Museum, where your kids can enjoy imaginative play in a variety of ways.
6. Zion National Park
Zion National Park is Utah's most beloved park, and one of the most visited national parks in the entire U.S.. Tourist season is amping up, but there's still time for a quick visit before it gets too crowded. Take a scenic drive, go for a hike, and enjoy the natural beauty that's abundant here.
7. Gardner Village, West Jordan
Gardner Village is a pretty spot for a day of shopping and lunch year-round, but it's especially nice during the spring. Stroll along the cobblestone streets and check out the shops that are located in historic buildings. It's a great place to spend time with friends and family, and a great way to shop local, too.
8. Tuacahn Theater, St. George
Utahns are in love with the theater, and there's one venue where you can see some top-quality productions in a jaw-dropping setting. Tuacahn Theater is nestled in the mouth of Padre Canyon, and the red rock cliffs provides an excellent backdrop for an evening event.
9. Mystic Hot Springs, Monroe
There's nothing like soaking in a hot tub while checking out a view, right? Mystic Hot Springs offers several converted bathtubs full of hot mineral water. Relax and let your worries soak away at this quirky spot. You can even camp overnight in one of the converted buses.
10. Moab Giants, Moab
If you're fascinated by dinosaurs, you've got to check out Moab Giants. When you walk along the half-mile-long Dinosaur Trail, you'll see 100 replica dinosaurs and learn all about the 33 different dino species that once lived in the Moab area.
11. Bryce Canyon National Park
The views at Bryce Canyon National Park are simply stunning. When you take the 38-mile-long scenic drive, you'll find 13 viewpoints, and each one is amazing. It's hard to choose a favorite, but we're kind of partial to Inspiration Point.
