Fall is right around the corner, and we can hardly wait! There's nothing like the cool, crisp days of autumn, and the vibrant hues of fall foliage make every scenic vista that much more beautiful. Here are the 9 best places to see the changing leaves in the Beehive State, and you'll want to make plans to get out there soon.
1. The Alpine Loop
The Alpine Loop might be Utah's most popular spot for fall foliage. The 20-mile loop goes from American Fork Canyon to Provo Canyon, and provides some of the best views in the state.
2. Logan Canyon
The aspens in Logan Canyon really start to pop this time of year. Take a drive through the canyon, or hike up to the wind cave for spectacular views.
3. Big Cottonwood Canyon
A drive up Big Cottonwood Canyon this time of year is perfectly picturesque. For a full day of fun, drive up to Brighton Resort and take the Brighton Lakes Trail. You'll see four alpine lakes, surrounded by the vibrant colors of fall.
4. Little Cottonwood Canyon
Little Cottonwood Canyon is every bit as impressive as its larger cousin during fall months. Visit Snowbird for Oktoberfest now through October 21st, and you can take the tram and chairlift up to view the fall foliage in a whole new way.
5. Snowbasin Resort
Take a drive up Ogden or Weber Canyons for fabulous fall foliage, and spend some time surrounded by even more color in the Ogden Valley. Snow Basin offers weekend events like Sunday Mountaintop Brunch and the free Blues, Brews & BBQ concerts for a few more weeks.
6. Cedar Breaks National Monument
You'll find Cedar Breaks National Monument in the Dixie National Forest near Cedar City. Its aspens turn a beautiful golden color this time of year, and you'll also find some spots of red and orange throughout the forest.
7. Fishlake National Forest
The 2,283 square miles of Fishlake National Forest are bright and beautiful during fall months. Visit Pando, the heaviest living organism in the world. It's a colony of quaking aspen, and it offers beautiful, vibrant colors when the weather starts to cool.
8. Mount Nebo Loop
If you love scenic drives, there's nothing better than the Mount Nebo Loop in the autumn. Leave yourself plenty of time to pull the car over for some pics of this beautiful fall foliage.
