Utah is still enjoying spring weather (like the snow we experienced last weekend!), but summer is right around the corner. You know I'm right - we may still experience a snow shower or two, but the temperature will turn to 85 degrees overnight...and then straight into the 90s.
When Utah gets warm, it gets hot...so you'll want to find the nearest lake and cool right off. You might not think of beaches when you think of the Beehive State, but here's a beach we think you should definitely put on your summer bucket list.
Bear Lake straddles the Utah/Idaho border. On the Utah side, you'll head to Garden City, where you'll find Bear Lake State Park.
Bear Lake is known for its azure blue waters. It's been called The Caribbean of the West, and you can certainly see why.
Rendezvous Beach opened for the summer on May 1st. The gates are open from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm.
Rendezvous Beach is 1.25 miles long, and it's a clean, pristine beach that's perfect for spending a day relaxing and enjoying the water.
Watch the sailboats floating on the picturesque lake.
Float on water toys and splash around with the kids.
Go for a swim! The lake gets its gorgeous blue color from calcium carbonate in the water.
Paddle around and explore the water - the visibility can be pretty good near the shoreline.
When it gets too hot on the sand, just move your chairs into the water, where you'll be nice and cool.
Or, just wade in until you're mostly submerged and people-watch from there.
While you're in Garden City, you're definitely going to want some local raspberries...
...and a raspberry shake from La Beau's Drive Inn.
