Located near Burroughs Park in Spring, the Spring Creek Nature Trail is a little-known hike that will make you think you've entered a fairytale.
The point-to-point trail has an easy rating, so it's pet and kid-friendly. It is rather lengthy, measuring just over 13 miles, but you can stop and turn back whenever you'd like.
The path is flanked by lush greenery on both sides, and each step takes you deeper into the enchanted forest.
Some of the trees even hang over the trail to form tunnels, amplifying the magic of the area.
You'll encounter several water crossings along the way, each one featuring a wooden footbridge that is sure to put a twinkle in the eye of hikers young and old.
The gentle babble of the creek is almost meditative in nature, and by the time you reach the other side, a sense of peace will have enveloped your entire being.
Each successive bridge is seemingly more wondrous than the last, and since the trail is such a hidden gem, you'll likely have them all to yourself.
That means you can take all the time your heart desires to stop and revel in the unhurried, pace of nature.

Like something from a children's storybook, miniature fairy houses are also scattered along the trail.
Don't worry, you won't actually see any trolls - but pixies have been known to flit around and spread their fairy dust on unsuspecting visitors!
