We've covered all of these astoundingly beautiful places in Texas before, but they're just so breathtaking that we had to talk about them again! From soaring mountains to arid canyons to flowing rivers, we have it all here in the Lone Star State. We should feel thankful to live in a state with so much beauty around us, and hopefully these photos of natural wonders in Texas will entice you to go outside and explore these magnificent places!
1) Palo Duro Canyon (Canyon)
Popularly known as the "Grand Canyon of Texas," this is the second-largest canyon in the U.S., containing the well-traveled Lighthouse Trail.
2) Rio Grande River
The longest river in Texas, the mighty Rio Grande spans a total of 1,896 miles, with 1,250 of those miles passing through Texas.
3) Guadalupe Peak (Salt Flat)
In the Guadalupe Mountains, you'll find the impressive Guadalupe Peak, standing tall at 8,750 feet. It's the tallest point in all of Texas!
4) Hamilton Pool (Dripping Springs)
This well-preserved grotto is easily the most popular destination in Texas in the summertime. The pool was formed when the dome of an underground river collapsed due to erosion thousands of years ago. You can see evidence of this with the massive limestone walls surrounding the pool itself.
5) Hueco Tanks State Park (El Paso)
This strange cluster of rocks in El Paso is actually an ancient wonder, because people used to trek here for the rainwater held inside the rock basins. Now, you can rock climb, hike, or marvel at more than 200 images of masks on the rocks drawn by Native Americans.
6) Devil's Sinkhole (Rocksprings)
Measuring 300 feet deep, the Devil's Sinkhole is the largest single-chamber cavern in Texas, with a diameter of over 320 feet. It also houses the state's largest colony of Mexican free-tailed bats, which you can see emerge from the caverns at night!
7) Caddo Lake (Uncertain)
The only natural lake in all of Texas, Caddo Lake spans across the Texas-Louisiana border and makes a great place for fishing and kayaking!
8) Enchanted Rock State Natural Area (Fredericksburg)
This mysterious, magical, and massive pink granite rock in Central Texas attracts thousands of tourists each year. The grueling 1800 ft hike to the summit is totally worth it for the 360 degree views of the hill country below. Plus, there's a cave at the back of the rock just waiting to be explored.

9) Jacob's Well (Wimberley)
This perennial karstic spring in the hill country makes a very popular swimming spot for tourists and locals alike in summertime. The 12-foot wide mouth of the spring, known as Jacob's Well, is where most of the swimmers seek refuge from the unbearable Texas heat. If you're brave enough, you can also jump off the rocks towering above the swimming hole!
10) The Window (Big Bend National Park)
Easily one of the most well-traveled trails in Big Bend, at the end of the 5.6 mile journey, you will find The Window itself, a large rock canyon that cuts directly through the Chisos Mountains rim. Definitely a must-see when you're in Texas!
