By now, you're probably sick of hearing about Hamilton Pool and Jacob's Well. While both of these swimming holes in Texas are incredibly beautiful, they're also a far cry from the hidden gems they once were. Luckily, there is another great place to swim in Texas that's still a local secret: Burger's Lake. Located in Fort Worth, this man-made, inland paradise boasts striking blue waters, white sand beaches, and tons of amenities and attractions to keep the fun going all summer long.
On a hot day, nothing quite compares to making a splash in a cool, crisp body of water - something that proves difficult if you don't live on the coast.
This season, take a dip in Burger's Lake in Fort Worth, a man-made (yet spring-fed) swimming hole with far more amenities than you'll find at your local city park pool.
Boasting six diving boards, a 20-foot slide, and tons of other attractions, Burger's Lake offers endless summer fun for the whole family. There are also inner tubes available to rent if you're in the mood for a leisurely float!
There's even a 25-foot trapeze swing that makes for the most epic cannonball of your life. Since the lake is manmade, you don't have to worry about scouting for large rocks at the bottom first - an added bonus! Alleviating your fears even more are the certified lifeguards on duty at all times.
In the 30-acre park, you'll see two sprawling, white sand beaches perfect for soaking up some rays. Bring your favorite chair or towel, get ready to lounge the day away, periodically sneaking off to keep cool by jumping in the water for a bit.
Kid-friendly activities abound, from watersports such as tetherball to shallow swim areas and small slides for the really little ones.
Over 300 picnic tables are very well shaded, and there are plenty of charcoal grills for cooking. Alcoholic beverages aren't allowed, but everything else is fair game!
If you don't want to pack your own food, there is a snack bar with everything you need to stay fueled up throughout the day. From entrees like pizza, burgers, and hotdogs to small bites such as candy, chips, French fries, and ice cream and snow cones, there's no shortage of delicious eats to chow down on.
Visit the Burger's Lake website for more information, including hours and entrance fees.
