If you’re up for an adventure, how about taking a hike to a lake in Texas? The Eagle Mountain Lake Park Trail at Eagle Mountain Lake Park in Fort Worth is just hard enough to challenge you while still being accessible to beginners. Plus, it features stunning views of a crystal-clear lake!
You’re in for a real treat when you embark on the Eagle Mountain Lake Park Trail. This 7.5-mile loop features stellar views of the eastern shore of Eagle Mountain Lake, and it’s beautiful to visit any time of year.
Although the trail is rather long, it has an elevation gain of under 600 feet. If you’re relatively new to hiking but want to push yourself distance-wise, this hike offers the perfect amount of challenge.
Native wildlife and seasonal flowers can be seen everywhere you look, so keep your eyes peeled! There’s never a dull moment on this trail - even before you reach the actual lake.
Once you make it to the scenic overlook, you’ll be in awe. The water is so blue and sparkles in the sunlight, making for a picture-perfect scene begging to be photographed.
The park isn’t always crowded, but it can be, so I’d recommend coming early or at sunset if you’re looking for solitude. Also, dogs aren’t allowed here, so leave your best pal at home this time!
Well-maintained and with a map at every intersection, the trail branches off onto several alternate routes. If it does end up getting too long (or you just want to switch it up!), you have lots of options.
