Here, you can cool off in the refreshing streams and fly through the air on a rope swing. This little-known, hidden swimming hole near Austin has the most gorgeous, glimmering water, and it's such a lovely Texas oasis that you might never want to leave!
Camp Ben McCulloch dates all the way back to the late 1800s.
Originally, this site was created as a reunion place for Confederate Soldiers. The last Civil War event took place in 1946, and it's now used by outdoor enthusiasts and day-trippers in and around ATX.

Onion Creek ripples around this tranquil campsite, and it's the perfect place to escape from the summer heat. It won't even cost you a penny to enjoy this section of the great outdoors. If you want to camp, however, the site does charge a (reasonable) daily camping rate.
