Not everyone knows this, but one of the most beautiful lakes in Texas is tucked away inside of a Hill Country state park. Inks Lake State Park in Burnet boasts pristine waters ideal for year-round recreation, and it will quickly become one of your new favorite escapes.
A true Texas Hill Country gem, Inks Lake State Park is characterized by its rugged cliffs, lush greenery, and crystal-clear, sparkling water.
The 1,200-acre park features nine miles of hiking trails, over 200 campsites and cabins, and one of the most beautiful lakes you'll ever see.
With constant water levels year-round, the lake offers a natural playground in every season. When temperatures heat up in the summer, nothing feels better than jumping in and splashing around for a bit to cool off.
Visitors can also boat, water ski, scuba dive and fish on the lake. Paddle boats, canoes, one and two-person kayaks, life vests, and paddles are available for rent at the park store.
Anglers can fish for sunfish, catfish and several species of bass from two piers. Remember, fishing licenses are not required at Texas state parks!
If you would like to spend the night, many of the campsites are located just steps away from the lake, while others provide easy lake access.
Just wait until you see the sunsets! They are truly life-changing.
