Whether it’s a weekend or more, there is no better way to experience what this state park has to offer. Bucket list time!
Welcome to your cabin adventure at Bastrop State Park in Bastrop, Texas. Hike, camp, fish, explore, and most importantly, enjoy the natural beauty.
Bastrop State Park is part of 75,000 acres of Lost Pines ecosystem about 30 miles east of Austin, perfect for a day trip or a weekend stay. In a sea of loblolly pines, new trees and new life grow in the forest after previously being ravaged by fire.
Despite fires, pieces of history still remain. Little bits from trees long felled and natural stone was crafted into these beautiful cabins in the 1930s. Though they have plenty of great campsites to choose from, these cabins are a real work of craftsmanship and a fantastic way to sleep during an outdoorsy weekend.
All through the seasons, Bastrop State Park is rich in wildlife. From the short-lived Luna moth to a common deer, beauty comes in all shapes, sizes, and camouflage. Spotting them is sometimes tough, but a fun activity for family members of any age.
One of the main things that this state park fights for is prescribed burns. For many ecosystems across the country, controlled burns are a natural part of how things should work. Instead of wildfires destroying the area, controlled burns keep the ecosystem healthy and regulated.
Out here, you can relax in the simple beauty of pure Texas nature. Book your stay at a local cabin and plan a wonderful weekend outdoors!
