If you're in need of a little "you" time, look no further than Lake O' The Pines. One of the most peaceful and secluded lakes in Texas, this pristine oasis features swim beaches, campgrounds, and plenty of solitude. It's so little-known, you just might have it all to yourself!
The self-proclaimed "Most Beautiful Lake in East Texas," Lake O' The Pines is a pristine oasis that sits on nearly 17,000 acres of sprawling Piney Woods landscape.
As its name suggests, the lake is surrounded by a seemingly endless swath of pine trees that rise up to incredible heights. The closest major city to the lake is Tyler, which is still over an hour away, so you'll enjoy plenty of peace and quiet here.
Six parks with varying amenities rest on the shores of the lake. Brushy Creek Park is among the most popular of them all, doubling as a day-use area and a campground.
All of the parks have at least one boat ramp, and some also offer swim beaches, playgrounds, basketball courts, and clean restroom facilities.
Along with Brushy Creek, Buckhorn Creek and Johnson Creek Parks are also open to overnight guests. All three campgrounds have both tent and RV sites available, many with water and electric hookups.
With at least 50 (and as many as 100!) campsites at each of the three parks, privacy is almost guaranteed. Whether you choose a waterfront site or one nestled amid the towering pines, you can fall asleep listening to nothing but the sounds of nature.
The sunsets at Lake O' The Pines are simply indescribable. Imagine unzipping your tent to this view - I think I would just stay here forever after witnessing such a jaw-dropping scene!

While the lake is blissfully remote, there is a general store about 30 miles away in Marshall. It's the perfect "pit" stop (pun intended) for some delicious BBQ on your way to or from the lake!
In addition to campgrounds, the lake also has several nearby marinas as well as boat and cabin rentals. Visit the Lake O' The Pines website for more information.
