Sewanee is one of the most underappreciated places in Tennessee, home to the architecturally stunning University of the South and the Sewanee Perimeter Trail. You can easily take a day trip out here, walking the campus graveyard, grabbing coffee downtown and getting your hear pumping with a hike down the trail.
5. Watauga Lake
Stay in the tiny town of Butler or rent a cabin on Watauga Lake if you have the chance to visit this stunning East Tennessee gem. The community is small and the people are kind, with sweet neighborhoods that cling tight to the edge of the water. It's a hidden treasure, one the locals hold close.
4. Bristol

2. Blackberry Farm - Walland
This luxury resort in Tennessee is one of the most beautiful places in the eastern side of the state, perfect for a stunning (if pricey) couple of days away. 1. Land Between the Lakes
Land Between the Lakes is often forgotten by Tennesseans, mainly because it lies smack dab in the middle of the Kentucky-Tennessee state line. We forget it's ours too, and by leaving it out miss out on views like the gorgeous haze over the water we've pictured above. Say goodbye to Percy Priest or Radnor and instead head up to the northernmost part of the state for an empty park with picture perfect moments for days.
