You'll find Hartford Beach State Park in the northeast corner of the state, on the South Dakota/Minnesota border.
It's situated on the banks of Big Stone Lake, which provides both beautiful surroundings and tons of recreation opportunities.
Take a hike along one of the five trails at the park. Watch for wildlife!
Big Stone Lake is a popular spot for fishing. Walleyes are the most plentiful, but you'll also find perch, crappie, bluegill and pike.
Spend the night in one of 87 campsites. The sites have electricity and the campground offers flush toilets and showers.
Or, stay in one of the four adorable cabins here.
These cozy little cabins aren't fancy, but they do include seating, dining tables, and beds.
Enjoy some great lake views right from your picnic table.
