While South Dakota is full of fun attractions, some have been thousands of years in the making. The Lakota and Cheyenne people have long valued the properties of the warm water generated from springs found deep underground. Today, you can enjoy the warm water of the springs at this incredible pool.
You'll find Evans Plunge Mineral Springs at 1145 North River Street in Hot Springs.
Evans Plunge was established in 1890. Generation of South Dakotans have enjoyed playing in the warm, spring-fed waters here.
The water here is at a constant 87 degrees Fahrenheit. The spring that feeds the pool pumps 5,000 gallons of water per minute.
The pool includes plenty of amenities for fun. You'll find waterslides, a kiddie pool, swing rings, water basketball and volleyball and more here.
There's also a lifeguard to keep you safe!
The indoor pool is open year-round; the outdoor pool typically opens around Memorial Day.
Summer hours start on May 1st!
