South Dakota has plenty of gorgeous outdoor spaces, but here's one that's perfect for a visit year-round. There's something here for everyone, from hiking to snowmobiling.
The Big Sioux Recreation Area is located at 410 W. Park Street in Brandon, South Dakota.
You'll pay $4 per person, or $6 per vehicle to enter the park.
The park is nestled on the banks of the Big Sioux River, and covers 430 acres.
Play a round of disc golf. The challenging, 18-hole course makes its way along the river and through the trees for some picturesque scenery.
You'll find about five miles of hiking trails here, ranging from moderate to strenuous.
Here's a view from the Valley of the Giants trail. The trail is two miles long, and can be a little strenuous in areas.
Put your canoe in the Big Sioux and do some exploring.

Check out Bergeson's Homestead, a little log home built here in 1869.
At the end of the day, you might not want to leave this beautiful place. Camp overnight at one of 50 campsites, or stay in one of the 3 cabins.
Campsites are available for $15 for non-electrical sites; $19 for electrical sites.

Visit the park this year on October 28th for Trick or Trails, a fun event that's perfect for every member of the family. The event runs from 5 PM to 8 PM.
