When you need to relax, there is nothing better than visiting the great outdoors of South Dakota, which has everything from the Black Hills to the prairie to incredible lakes! If you agree and are looking for something new to see and do, make plans to fish and relax at South Dakota's Richmond Lake Recreation Area:
Located in Aberdeen, the Richmond Lake Recreation Area is one of the biggest and best places for South Dakota watersports, thanks, in part, to its picturesque 1,000-acre lake.
Managed by South Dakota Game, Fish & Parks, Richmond Lake is billed as being the place for "campers, swimmers, naturalists, boaters and anglers," thanks to 3 separate areas.
Whether you want to fish, boat, canoe, kayak, or swim, you are sure to have discovered your new go-to, thanks to not only the ample water but fishing dock, beach, and place to rent equipment.
Do you love to camp? The Richmond Lake Recreation Area has a spot for that, too, and offers lovely electrical and non-electrical campsites, plus charming cabins.
In addition to all of the above, the Richmond Lake Recreation Area boasts wildlife viewings via the 200-acre Forest Drive Unit, disc golf, trails, and much more.
Admission to Richmond Lake starts at $8 per day per vehicle, with campsites costing $22 (non-electric) to $26 (electric) a night.
The Richmond Lake Recreation Area is open year-round. To learn more or to reserve your campsite, please visit the South Dakota Game, Fish & Parks' website.
