For locals and natives alike, when it comes to the twenty-plus beaches along the South Carolina coast we're basically creatures of habit. But why not break out of that normal routine for once and head to a beach you probably wouldn't consider - unless you live near Hilton Head. On the other hand, visitors to our state probably know this beach well since it's right in the middle of a popular tourist area. Here is where you can find the whitest sand in South Carolina:
Let's take a look at this underrated beach: Coligny Beach Park on Hilton Head.
For starters, there's plenty of parking.
And this public beach has the nicest facilities around. It even has a splash park (free) on the boardwalk to the ocean.
You'll love how easy it is to get all your gear to the beach on the flat hard surfaces that lead from the parking lot all the way to the sand.
Once you get to the sand, there's a mat for additional ADA compliance. It also helps with wheeling that cooler down the fluffy loose white sand.
We're sure you won't miss them, but just in case, take a look at these! Two thumbs up, eh?
At low tide, there's plenty of open space for everyone. At high tide it can get crowded, especially on holiday weekends. But just LOOK at all that soft fluffy white sand. Can you feel it between your toes right now?
Did we mention there's FREE wifi? Oh yeah. I'm there.
So if so many people already know about Coligny Beach then how come we're calling it "underrated?"
That's simple. It's not on everyone's radar because most locals and natives tend to go to their favorite beach - and that's it. Are you a creature of habit like most are?
Why not step out of the box one weekend and check out this underrated beach in South Carolina?
