Out on the 50,000-acre Murray Lake, there are 3 different islands and plenty of boating opportunities. Hiking trails also provide great opportunities for scenery hunting, because the best angle is sometimes a little beyond what you see.
Whether you're camping or staying in one of their cozy cabins away from the weather and rocky ground, this state park is a great home away from home. Dreher Island has plenty of campsites and 5 lakeside villas to choose from, in varying sizes.
In the mornings, getting up a bit earlier means treating yourself to one of the most beautiful sights South Carolina can create. This stunning scene is all free, included with a visit or stay to the park.
Relaxation is second nature out here, and there are plenty of opportunities to do so. Whether it's a hammock at your campground or a sleeping bag on the ground to watch the stars, the beauty here is endless.
Getting up early to catch the sun isn't a schedule most people keep, but out here, it really is worthwhile. There's just so much beauty in a simple changing of the sky.
