Christmas in South Carolina brings many things, and spending quality time with family is certainly one of them. If you're seeking an evening of fun you won't soon forget, then head to Wellford outside of Spartanburg to visit the drive-thru safari holiday lights where you can also hand-feed the animals in the Enchanted Deer Forest.
For more than 30 years, Hollywild Animal Park/Preserve has hosted a Christmas lights safari adventure for families to enjoy during the holidays.
And this year, in spite of the pandemic, the event is still on!
It's easy to see why: a drive-thru safari is a natural way to be socially distant and safe, even during COVID-19.
The drive-through adventure is spread out over 100 acres on the preserve at Hollywild.
But you'll want to be sure to purchase the add-on that will grant you access to drive through the Enchanted Deer Forest — which is home to more than just deer!
Your add-on ticket includes some food you and the kids can hand-feed to the overly friendly bunch of animals that live in the preserve.
Expect all creatures, big and small, to be friendly and not shy at all about approaching your vehicle.
This is an evening sure to bring many belly laughs and much holiday cheer.
Tickets are $7 per person (kids 24 months and under are free). The add-on ticket for the Enchanted Deer Forest is an additional $10 per car and includes a starter bag of food.
Oh what fun you'll have on this evening adventure! The gates open nightly at 6 p.m. through January 2, 2021. For more information, including closing times which vary by night, see the official website for Hollywild.
