Living in the Ocean State ensures some pretty great things for us locals. One of the very best (and maybe most obvious) is having access to wonderful places to swim. While most of these places tend to be pretty crowded in the summertime, a few have slipped through the cracks. These lesser known spots are perfect!
1. Peck Pond, Chepachet
This 30 acre pond is found in the heart of Pulaski State Park and recreational area. It is not only well maintained, but also the perfect place to cool off after a great hike. Find it along the Connecticut border at 151 Pulaski Road.
2. Fogland Beach, Tiverton
Fogland Beach is also named Tiverton Town Beach and is a unique choice for several reasons. It's location on the tiny peninsula between Aquidneck Island and Tiverton forms a cove wonderful for windsurfing. This beach also offers a nature conservation area that is perfect to keep the kids entertained. Find it at the end of Fogland Road.
3. Goosewing Beach, Little Compton
You can find Goosewing Beach off of South Shore Road in Little Compton. While there is no parking located on site, the walk from the adjacent and more populated South Shore Beach is definitely worth it.
4. Ninigret Pond, Charlestown
Ninigret Pond has several amazing beaches along its shores that are perfect to visit on a warm summer's day. Find it along scenic Route 1A through Charlestown.

5. Third Beach, Middletown
Also known as Navy Beach, this gorgeous beach is located near Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge in Middletown and is quiet and beautiful. Find it on Third Beach Road in Middletown.
