A day on a farm in Rhode Island offers so much promise. Sunsoaked moments walking through pick your own fields. Delicious baked goodies and ice cream after a tasty meal. And an abundance of photo worthy moments. If you're looking for relaxed way to spend a few hours or maybe even an entire day, make your way to this Rhode Island farm.
Nestled on 100 acres in Middletown, Sweet Berry Farm welcomes guests for a one-of-a-kind experience from May through Christmas annually.
What originally started as a hobby farm, where Jan and Michelle Eckhart focused on growing Christmas trees and strawberries, has blossomed into a prime seasonal destination.
The farm welcomes visitors to stroll through the pick your own fields throughout the season. Fruits ripen at various times and include strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, and apples.
Autumn means meandering through the pumpkin patch to pick the perfect pumpkins for decorating and baking. Visit after Thanksgiving, too, to pick your Christmas tree.
If you don't feel like wandering through the fields, head to the market, where you'll find the freshest fruits and veggies too.
The market's brimming with deliciousness - from baked goodies to fresh cheeses.
All that goodness is sure to get your mouth watering in anticipation. Grab a bite to eat - a hearty sandwich, for example - at the cafe and then relax in the indoor or outdoor seating area.
The cafe also has a to go menu.
Even if you're not too hungry, you can't go wrong with freshly baked cookies or...
An ice cream treat. Sweet Berry Farm scoops soft and hard ice cream in a variety of flavors, frozen yogurt, gelato, and Italian ice.
