Rhode Island is a little state with a huge tourist season! Our beaches, and fantastic attractions have ensured that our warm weather months bring in out-of-state vacationers in droves. While we have hundreds of fantastic year round restaurants, some of our very best eateries only open their doors in spring and summer. These 6 seafood restaurants are prime examples of amazing places that you can only visit for a few months out of the year.
1. Monahans, Narragansett
Though everyone has their clam shack loyalties, Monahan's has a strong reputation is a fun rhody experience. This fantastic restaurant is located at 190 Ocean Road and kicks off its 2017 season on April 21st.
2. Blount Clam Shack, Warren
Found at 335 Water Street in Warren is this Rhode Island staple! Blount serves arguably the best chowder and clam cakes around and features scenic outdoor seating, live music, and so much more. They open again for 2017 season on May 11th.
3. Aunt Carrie's, Narragansett
This family owned and operated seafood restaurant has been around since 1920! They even take credit for inventing the clam cake and visiting is simply a fantastic way to experience Rhode Island's history firsthand. Their season kicks off on Memorial Day this year and you can find them at 1240 Ocean Road.
4. Iggy's Doughboys and Chowder House, Narragansett
Visiting Iggy's is a Rhode Island must-have experience. Though the Warwick location is open year round, there's something more authentic about the Narragansett shack that is only open from April through Columbus Day. Find it at 1151 Point Judith Road.
5. Champlin's Seafood, Narragansett
This great seafood restaurant is located at 256 Great Island Road and launched their 2017 season on March 3rd.
6. Easton's Beach Snack Bar, Newport
This fantastic beachside snack bar is found right at Easton's Beach at 175 Memorial Boulevard in Newport. The snack bar opens on May 5th.
