A scenic stroll can sometimes be just what we need to combat life's stresses. With nearly 400 hiking trails in Rhode Island, we can find pretty much anything we're looking for, from leisurely walks to challenging treks. This little-known path in Coventry, Rhode Island, promises an easy adventure, stunning scenery, and the chance to shed that stress.
When you're strapped for time but really need to breathe in the fresh air, slip on a pair of comfy shoes for a stroll along the easy Carbuncle Pond and Moosup River Trail.
Lather on the bug spray if you're hiking during the warmer months. The path can get incredibly buggy.
While you might face a few challenges - overgrown areas and some rocky terrain - you'll likely agree that the trail is easy overall. Carve out about an hour and 15 minutes for your adventure.
If you're not in a hurry, don't worry about time and just take it slow. There's plenty of pretty scenery along the way.
The trail can be quiet, depending on the time of the day, but don't be surprised if you run across horseback riders and mountain bikers. Pups are allowed along the trail, too, but if you bring yours, make sure he stays leashed.
Remember to pick up after your pup and whatever you take on the trail with you - water bottles, snacks, etc - bring the remnants out with you and dispose of them properly.

Because of its easy rating and abundance of natural beauty, the trail is popular all year round, drawing hikers during the most colorful days of fall and the snowy afternoons of winter.
