All seasons are beautiful in Rhode Island, but the warmer months bring with them flowers – along hiking trails, in neighborhoods and our own backyards, and at Lavender Waves Farm in Rhode Island. The charming farm is the perfect seasonal destination, whether you want to have a picnic among the lavender or you want to pick your own lavender.
Stretched across 14 glorious acres, Lavender Waves Farm in Wakefield offers a full menu of activities and is a picture-perfect day trip destination during the warmer months.
A stroll through the lavender fields is sure to put a spring in your step. Stop to smell the sweet scent of the flowers. Cut your own lavender is only available on certain days.
Even if you don’t visit on a cut your own lavender day, you’ll find plenty to do. Relax with a delicious picnic – the classic picnic, the Tiffany picnic, or the French country picnic – among the flowers for a one-of-a-kind experience.
Hour-long yoga sessions are also scheduled throughout the season.
General admission to the farm promises a ton of family-friendly fun. Bring your own picnic; snag a picnic table, and enjoy a leisurely meal.
You definitely don’t want to forget your camera to snap photos of the beautiful flowers and the animal residents on the farm. Meet some of the 60 animals, including sheep alpaca, ducks, pigs, and geese.
Don’t forget to stop by and say hi to Minnie the Great Dane, Diego the Donkey, and Humphrey the Camel.
If a few hours at the lavender farm simply isn’t enough to soak it all up, book a stay at the on-site Airbnb farm suite.
