If you are suffering from a case of the winter blues and are dreaming of visiting someplace tropical, you don't need to purchase a plane ticket. Just head to Rhode Island's indoor rainforest where you'll feel like you've stepped into a South American paradise. The Faces of the Rainforest Exhibit at the Roger Williams Park Zoo has opened and if you haven't visited yet, you're missing out.
The Faces of the Rainforest Exhibit opened at the Roger Williams Park Zoo at the end of November of 2018. It is an immersive wildlife experience that takes you straight to the Amazon.
Step inside the indoor rainforest and feel instantly like you've traveled to another country. Lush greenery, cascading waterfalls, and the sights and sounds of the animals all blend together to create this captivating habitat.
The entertaining howler monkeys will serenade you as you stroll throughout the building with their loud echoing calls.
The Titi monkeys are also quite the talkers. View them scampering about in the trees or often sleeping in pairs because these cuties mate for life.
One of the favorite exhibits houses the giant river otters. Get a good look at them splashing around the edge of the pool or actually swimming underwater.
It wouldn't be a rainforest without a few snakes — don't worry they can't get near you. This Anaconda can grow to be up to 20 feet long.
The open-air aviary is full of surprises. Search up in the trees to discover even more rainforest species.
Linne's Two-Toed Sloth is pretty easy to find. This cute creature doesn't move very fast at all.
Birds like toucans and troupials zip back and forth across the free-flight aviary, their bright colors catching your eye.
The Faces of the Rainforest exhibit is a delightful new attraction at the zoo. Beat the winter blues by immersing yourself in this South American indoor rainforest.
The Roger Williams Park Zoo is fun for the whole family to visit year-round. Tickets are $17.95 for adults, $12.95 for children ages 2 -12, and $15.95 for seniors.
