Though the state has quite a few truly stunning islands, Block Island is the most sought out in the summer months and for good reason! The dozens of wonderful shops and restaurants, lovely nature reserve and historic lighthouses make it a picturesque New England vacation spot. It also offers this simple hike under 5 miles that will lead you to the breathtaking 150-foot tall clay cliffs overlooking a secluded beach, known as the Mohegan Bluffs. Here's how it goes!
1. Start in Old Harbor at the Block Island Ferry dock.
Take a second to take in the magic of the island once you exit the ferry and feel good about your decision to go on this amazing Little Rhody adventure.
2. Stroll along the beautiful beach in the direction of Southeast Light.
The beaches found throughout the island are so enchanting.
3. Once you make it there, stop to explore gorgeous Southeast Light.
It is commonly referred to as the most striking lighthouse in the U.S. and is so worth checking out.
4. You've made it to the bluffs!

5. The Mohegan Bluffs stand brilliantly tall at 150 feet and are formed with natural clay.
They were named after the Battle of Niantic and the Mohegan which occurred in this spot in the 16th century.
6. At the base of the bluffs is a wonderful secluded beach that is perfect to enjoy a picnic on.
This is a well deserved picnic of victory for completing this fun little hike!
