Therefore, after you get settled in your temporary home, head on over the nearby Maxwell Mays Trail to explore a part of this scenic landscape.

The trailhead to Glamp Frogmore is located about ten minutes away from where you'll be staying. Rated easy, the Maxwell Mays Trail is about a three-mile loop that's ideal for hikers of all levels. During your hike, you'll get to see wildflowers, take in breathtaking views of the lake, and walk through a forest. And while dogs aren't allowed on this trail, keep your eyes open for wildlife sightings during your hike.

Charlestown Breachway Campground is open until the end of October and with the best views in the state, spots fill up quickly. Therefore, we suggest making your reservation at Charlestown Breachway as soon as possible.

This campground is a water enthusiast's paradise with the Breachway on one side and the Block Island Sound on the other. The campground has 75 sites available for self-contained RVs only. No tent camping is allowed due to potential high winds at this shoreline spot.

We've already discussed some of the best camping spots in Rhode Island, but one place in particular is worth expanding upon. Though each camping site in the state offers something a little bit different, few are as rustic and authentic as Burlingame State Park Campground in Charlestown. If you haven't had the chance to experience this amazing park and recreational area, you're surely missing out!

Burlingame State Park Campground is located in the charming town of Charlestown in Washington County.

As one of the larger recreational areas found in the state, Burlingame spans more than 3,000 acres in size.

The state park is located along Watchaug Pond, a 573 acre pond commonly referred to as Kettle Pond. Burlingame State Park camping is so beautiful here!

Its location next to this beautiful pond allows for fishing, swimming, kayaking, and so much more.

The Burlingame campground offers more than 700 campsites ranging in little to no amenities to a small number of cabins for those seeking a little more comfort. Hiking trails are found throughout the park, and kayak rentals are also available.
