If you were to guess where you'd find the best BBQ in America, your mind probably wouldn't go straight to Rhode Island – after all, they must do it better in the South right? You might just be surprised. And haven't we learned by now to never underestimate Little Rhody?
Gotta Q BBQ, which has several food trucks and trailers that you can find around the state as well as two small brick and mortar outposts, beat out 2,000 contenders from around the country in 2014 to win Mobile Cuisine's search for the best BBQ truck in the country. Take that, Texas!
And it's no wonder they won. They make all the classics, from ribs and brisket to pulled pork and smoked chicken.
The meat is perfectly seasoned and smoked, and melt-in-your mouth tender.
Get any of their meats on a sandwich and sink your teeth into the most succulent treat you've ever enjoyed.
Or just get a plate and load up on their amazing sides – don't skip the cornbread.
We want to warn you, though – you need to come here with plenty of room in your stomach. Once you take a look at this food, you'll find yourself ordering practically the whole menu.
Best of all, they cater! Imagine bringing a truck or their mobile trailer to a big family reunion, festival, or even a wedding – you'll have one happy crowd.
You can find their two brick and mortar locations at 2000 Mendon Road (Cumberland Plaza), and
4120 Mendon Road (Shell Food Court) – both in Cumberland.
