Tucked away in SE Portland, the lovely Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden is a sight to behold. Located across the street from Reed College, the beautifully manicured, colorful garden is where you need to be come spring to see some magnificent blooms.
The garden is so inviting from the start with a lovely bridge providing scenic views and lush greenery.
Down below, in the stream you can find many species of ducks frolicking along.
But nothing like when you reach the ponds, which are great for duck lovers to see a wide variety of colorful ducks.
The rhododendrons are in bloom beginning the end of February, though peak bloom is late April through early May.
No matter which season you visit, the garden is wonderful for strolling, and leashed dogs are always welcome.
Spring is the most colorful time to visit, but the garden is nice and quiet all times throughout the year.
Even when things are looking rather bare, there is so much beauty at this garden.
Water features flow year-round and provides a serene escape from everyday.
The garden is open from dawn to dusk daily. Admission is charged from March 1st to September 1st from 10 am to 6 pm. Mondays and Tuesdays are always free.
