Most of us would probably agree that hayrides are fun any time of the year. However, nothing can really compare when the landscape transforms into the colors of fall and the destination for our ride is a pumpkin patch, can it? Whether you're picking pumpkins for decorating, for baking, or just to enjoy a traditional autumn experience, you'll find plenty of colorful pumpkins at the 10-acre pumpkin patch at Shenot Farm near Pittsburgh.
Carve out a beautiful autumn morning or afternoon for your visit to Shenot Farm, in Wexford, a sprawling farm that boasts a spectacular 10-acre pumpkin patch.
Climb aboard a scenic hayride, which costs $2 per person, that will take you straight to the picturesque pumpkin patch.
Children under three years old ride free.
If you're in the mood for a leisurely stroll, however, follow the half-mile trail that will lead you to the pumpkin patch. Both hayrides and the trail costs $2 and everyone gets an apple with that price, too.
After you've picked your pumpkins, head back to the market. There, you'll find an assortment of fall goodies, including...
...freshly-pressed apple cider, caramel apples, and fudge apples. Pick up some kettle corn and check out the food trucks that will be on hand.
You can also find everything else you need — decorative corn and gourds and corn stalks, for example — to decorate for the season.
The fall fun on Shenot Farm begins the final weekend of September and runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday through the end of October.
Kiddos off on Columbus Day? Stop by the farm! Hayrides will set off between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.
Address: 3754 Wexford Run Road, Wexford, PA, 15090
