Here are seven of the most beautiful bike trails in and around the Burgh.

1. Great Allegheny Passage

Head out on an epic adventure along the Great Allegheny Passage, which runs 150 miles from Pittsburgh to Cumberland, Maryland. Bike all or just a bit of the picturesque trail. The Great Allegheny Passage starts at Point State Park in downtown Pittsburgh and winds through the South Side, Homestead, McKeesport, and Connellsville as you make your way toward Maryland. 2. Frick Park

Feel as though you're a million miles away while never leaving the heart of the city when you bike through the tree-lined paths of the Frick Park Loop Trail. The five-mile loop, considered relatively easy, is popular with bikers, dog walkers, and hikers. If you're feeling particularly adventurous, look for the unmarked bike trails throughout the park.

3. The Three Rivers Heritage Trail

Drink in jaw dropping views of Pittsburgh when you embark on the 24-mile Three Rivers Heritage Trail. The riverside trail, which is rated easy, starts in Millvale and winds through the North Shore, the Strip District, Station Square, the South Side, and Baldwin. 4. Panhandle Trail

Discover the natural beauty of the Pennsylvania countryside when you travel the Panhandle Trail, a former rail trail that took passengers from Pittsburgh to Chicago and St. Louis. Traveling from Carnegie to Weirton, West Virginia, the 29 mile trail consists of a crushed stone surface. Start the trail in Carnegie at the parking lot on Walkers Mill Road.

5. Montour Trail
