We all have those moments - that first whiff of a pumpkin-scented candle or the first sip of a pumpkin-spice drink - that signal the start of autumn for us. Those of us who count autumn as our favorite season look forward to it all year long. So whether we're at the beginning of the season or heading toward its end, nothing says fall is here more than a trip to the charming Wilcox Farms in Pennsylvania.
Begin or continue a memorable autumn tradition with a visit to Wilcox Farms in Boyertown, which hosts its annual fall festival from early September through Halloween.
Don't forget your camera, because you'll definitely want to snap photos with the autumn landscape as your backdrop.
Wilcox Farms boasts two corn mazes - one for the adults and another for the little ones. The large corn maze covers 25 acres and features eight miles of trails.
If the kiddos prefer something a little less intimidating, they can wander through the kids' corn maze. The farm also offers a hay bale maze and swings.
A trip to any farm in the fall wouldn't be complete without a leisurely hayride. Climb aboard a hayrack for a scenic 20-minute hayride.
That ride will also take you to the pumpkin patch, where you can pick your favorite pumpkins.
The large corn maze is open well into the evening hours on select days. After you've escaped from the massive puzzle, gather around a roaring bonfire.
After your autumn adventure, stop by the market, where you'll find the freshest fruits and vegetables. Stock up on everything from broccoli and tomatoes to flint corn and cabbage.
Quench your thirst, too, with a bottle of fresh apple cider. Wilcox Farms sells its famous apple cider by the pint, the half-gallon, and the gallon.
Check out the dates, hours, and more on the official website of Wilcox Farms. Or, go here for Facebook.
