We here in Pennsylvania have so many picturesque paths to explore that we may not know where to start. For a scenic adventure that boasts a whole lot of uniqueness, follow the Mingo Creek Paved Path. It promises a whole lot of surprises along the way - from two old-fashioned covered bridges to a gushing Pennsylvania Creek. It truly is one of the best hiking trails in Pennsylvania!
Mingo Creek County Park in Finleyville is perhaps best known for its two classic covered bridges.
The Henry Covered Bridge and the Ebenezer Covered Bridge are two of the most beautiful covered bridges in Pennsylvania.
It is also home to an inviting wandering path.
That path is drenched in scenic beauty and is paved throughout.
Tallying 6.2 miles, the out-and-back trail is rated easy ...
... and is totally doable for families with children, particularly those with strollers and those who may have mobility issues.
However, there are slight grades along the picturesque path.
So be sure that while hiking to watch your step to avoid any potentially hazardous spots.
Most of the trail measures six feet wide ...
... and you'll find numerous stops along the way to take a breather and take in the natural beauty.
Grab a bench or relax at a picnic table.
Be prepared for a few surprises, too!
For example, you'll encounter a small but breathtaking waterfall.
The trail can get really busy, although it's sometimes quieter during the weekdays.
Be prepared for slippery surfaces after it rains or snows.
