Let's go on an adventure today, PA! Life's been a bit different since the pandemic started, but we certainly still have an abundance of ways to have fun, no matter where we live in the state. We just have to do things a little bit differently. Next time you're looking for a way to spend a fun few hours or even a day, go on a drive-thru safari tour in Pennsylvania.
Explore Lake Tobias Wildlife Park, in Halifax, on a one-of-a-kind adventure that starts with a drive-thru safari.
While the wildlife park traditionally welcomes guests to climb onto an open-air bus and go on a safari, things are a bit different now.
Due to the pandemic, safari buses have been parked. Instead, you can meet the animals on a leisurely drive-thru safari from the comfort of your own vehicle.
You'll just have to follow a few new rules, starting by signing a waiver before your adventure begins.
Take your time, going no more than five miles per hour, as you drive along the dirt path. It probably won't take long before animals start sauntering by your car.
They may even come up to the window to greet you. While those adorable faces are hard to disappoint, you're not permitted to feed the animals. Management also strongly recommends looking but not touching.
You can, of course, snap photos of your new furry friends. Just remember to stay in your vehicle - for both your safety and the safety of the animals.
If you're up for more fun after your safari, you can stroll through the zoo itself. Just remember to bring your mask with you, as it is required in certain areas.
Set off on an unforgettable safari at Lake Tobias Wildlife Park, open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
