Worlds End State Park, stretched across 780 cozy acres, offers plenty of opportunities to view the fall foliage.
And, it provides the perfect backdrop for an autumn picnic and wildlife watching. Other popular activities at the cozy state park include fishing, camping, and cross-country skiing in the winter.
But, for a truly unique experience, lace up your hiking boots for a picturesque hike on the Double Run Nature Trail. (Follow the green blazes.)
The 1.2-mile loop trail promises plenty of spectacular scenery as you walk up stairs and cross footbridges.
Pass flowing streams, surrounded by the rustic colors of fall. (Some parts of the trail are steep, so use caution.)
And, gaze at the numerous waterfalls along the short trail, including Cottonwood Falls, and wildflowers during the spring and summer.
However, be careful near the waterfalls as the trail can become slippery.
