A lake provides an ideal backdrop for a leisurely day outdoors – whether it’s on a smoldering summer day, a crisp fall afternoon or a snowy winter morning. Pennsylvania’s Curwensville Lake offers plenty to do for the whole family – from swimming to camping – making it a bucket-list-worthy destination. It, in fact, boasts some of the cleanest water in the state.
The clean, clear water of Curwensville Lake spans 790 acres, making it a popular spot for those who want to spend time in or on the water.
On those hot summer days, bring all of your beach gear with you to the shimmering lake that boasts a soft, sandy beach. Claim your spot before relaxing on the warm sand, or…
Head straight into the clean lake to cool down. When you’re refreshed, slip on your flip flops or water shoes for an impromptu game of beach volleyball.
If you bring your pup along on your day at the lake, he’ll have just as much fun as the rest of the family. The lake, in fact, offers both a dog park and a swimming area just for the pooches.
Curwensville Lake is also a popular spot for boaters. If you don’t have your own boat, you can rent a kayak, a canoe, or a paddleboard right at the lake. Good news, too, as the lake doesn’t have any restrictions on horsepower when it comes to boats.
The kiddos can play at one of several playgrounds, or you can spend a few quiet hours on the water fishing, another popular activity at the lake.
If one day at the lake just isn’t enough, you’re in luck. Curwensville Lake features rustic cabins and primitive campsites.
All guests must pay an admission fee. One vehicle costs $3 while a vehicle with a watercraft requires a $5 fee. Season passes are also available.
