Oregon is known for its stunning forests and green spaces. So, it's no wonder that fall is a particularly stunning season in the Beaver State. I love watching all the green leaves turn into a brilliant arrangement of yellows, oranges, reds, and browns. My favorite part is watching them fall, riding on the wind as they float down to carpet the sidewalks of my neighborhood.
However, I find it especially enjoyable to marvel at the wonder of autumn in quietly majestic spots, like parks or forests, especially those that provide a break from the hustle and bustle of city life. And if you're looking for a serene spot to enjoy fall colors in Oregon, I've got a superb location for you (or you and your family) to explore!
Try Alfred A. Loeb State Park, where you'll enjoy the quiet beauty of Oregon's amazing trees. This lovely haven is located less than 10 miles away from the Oregon coast. This stunning park is far away from any business centers or neighborhoods, so you'll get to experience the sounds of nature, from bird calls to owl hoots, uninterrupted.
Welcome to Alfred A. Loeb State Park in the fall, where your eyes will delight in a feast of yellows, oranges, and greens.
The park is situated along the lovely Chetco River.
Locals affectionately call this park simply "Loeb Park" rather than its full name.
According to the Oregon Parks Department, the forest is made up of a "dense grove of ancient Myrtlewood trees."
The Chetco River is renowned for its excellent salmon and steelhead fishing. Other activities include swimming, rafting, and hiking the Riverview Nature Trail.
Leaves of many colors blanket the forest floor during the autumn months.
This park also includes multiple campsites. So, consider turning your visit to Loeb Park into a camping trip!
Waking up among the trees is the perfect way to experience the fall colors!
If you're not up for camping, consider staying in one of the three adorable rental cabins.
Don't forget to keep an eye out for the beautiful ferns you'll see at the park too!
