If you're into chasing waterfalls, Oregon is the place to be. Did you know that there were more than 90 waterfalls nestled in the Columbia River Gorge? (And that's on the Oregon side alone!) We also have a hike that will take you past 10 different waterfalls. And in the Siuslaw National Forest, there's a trail leading to not one, but two 100-foot waterfalls; an area often called the Niagara Falls of Oregon. Are you up for an adventure? Lace up your shoes and let's journey to Oregon's very own Niagara Falls!
If you're looking for an Oregon waterfall hike that's bucket-list-worthy, it doesn't get much better than the Pheasant Creek Falls and Niagara Falls Trail.
Located in the stunning Siuslaw National Forest, this trail leads to two spectacular waterfalls, each over 100 feet tall! These falls are definitely "Niagara Falls" level.
This 1.4-mile, out-and-back trail is perfect for waterfall chasers of all levels. The trail is well-marked and absolutely beautiful.
This easy hike crosses over four different footbridges, venturing deep in a lush forest.
After a quick mile trek, the forest opens up to two wondrous waterfalls, located within striking distance of one another.
Because they are so close to each other, these falls are easily confused. Pheasant Creek Falls comes first, where a footbridge crosses in front of the spray.
This cascade drops over a two-stepped fall, first rolling over a rounded 18-foot tall drop into a narrow alcove, and then plunging freely for 106 feet into a massive, moss-covered amphitheater.
Niagara Falls is the taller of the two falls, and it's found at the very end of the trail. This waterfall plunges over a black basalt cliff, and it's a totally breathtaking scene to behold.
In addition to two of Oregon's greatest waterfalls, this trail also boasts some seriously sublime scenery. The ferns and massive trees make for an enchanting experience that's straight out of a Tolkien fantasy.
The 1.4-mile of this trail will go by in the blink of an eye, as you immerse yourself in one of Oregon's most beautiful forests.
Oregon is so full of wondrous beauty, and the beautiful Pheasant Creek Falls and Niagara Falls are two more feathers in the Beaver State's cap. If you're looking for an amazing waterfall adventure in Oregon, this is it!
