When it's time to tear the kids away from the TV and video games, take them to a farm for some fresh air. Here's a family farm that offers tons of fun activities that will keep them busy all afternoon.
Welcome to Lee Farms! You'll find this pretty farm down a country road in Tualatin. Watch for the sign on the side of the road.
Address: 21975 SW 65th Avenue, Tualatin, OR, 97062
The farm was founded in 1869, and it's still a family affair, with three generations of the Lee family involved in the day-to-day operations.
Drag your kids away from the electronics for the afternoon and head to the farm. There's plenty for them to see and do here, and they'll love the fresh air and sunshine.
The farm hosts Toddler Play Dates nearly every Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Little ones love to dig in the sand pits, and you can wander around and see the animals, too.
Guests of all ages are welcome to come by the farm any day from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., to visit the animals and play in the sand. The farm has special coloring sheets and craft projects you can do, too.
The farm is open to the public from the beginning of May through December 23rd. In the spring, you'll want to visit to get your hanging basket or planter full of colorful blooms.
In the spring, baby animals abound! Snuggle fuzzy little chicks, and get a look at baby goats, pigs, calves, puppies, and more.
Meet the chickens and say hello...
...then pick up some fresh eggs at the Country Store!
No trip to the farm is complete without a visit to the Country Store. You'll want to pick up a pie and snack on some fresh, homemade donuts. Make sure you take home a chicken pot pie for dinner - these are a Country Store specialty!
The country store also sells its own honey and honeycomb, and delicious homemade jams.
In the spring and summer, you'll want to grab some berries. Take home a pint, or grab a whole flat to make your own jam. You can reserve a flat of berries in advance by calling 503-638-1869.
As the summer progresses, fresh produce is available.
You'll want to keep an eye on the upcoming events at the farm. The Berry Festival will be held June 14-16, 2019. The Sunflower Festival takes place in August, and the Pumpkin Patch is open in the fall.
