The Calapooia River is an 80-mile tributary of the Willamette River that's located just north of Eugene, Oregon.
The river is known for its gentle waters, cool pools, and rocky shores, which can be found all along its path.
To enjoy all this river has to offer, head to McKercher Park, a Linn County Park that's located five miles east of Brownsville and a mile west of Crawfordsville.

The McKercher Swimming Hole, as it's known, is a series of little plunge pools that locals revere as the best in the area.
Large white fir and Douglas trees provide ample shade from the sun, keeping this area a calm and cool oasis even on the hottest summer days.
These swimming holes are gentle enough for all ages, including kids and pups! There are deeper pools in the area, too; these are ideal for adults and can be used for both swimming or jumping -- just be careful!
