Oregon is a haven for hiking enthusiasts — you'll find some of the best hikes in the country here! Trails bring you through forests, past lakes, and up mountains. But let's face it: While we can all appreciate natural beauty, not everyone loves a serious hike. That doesn't mean you can't find easy hikes with views that will blow you away! Consider this short, easy trail in Ecola State Park located around Cannon Beach in Oregon. This hike features ocean views, unique rock formations, a forest — and all in about a half mile. What's not to love?
The Tillamook Rock Lighthouse Loop is one of those hikes that may be short — but packs more in than any other hikes could.
To put it simply, it's a beautiful hiking experience.
This loop trail is 0.6 miles total, with only 65 feet elevation gain.
It's a very easy walking trail, so bring kids and people of all ages on it!
But don't mistake ease for boredom. You get a terrific view of the beach below.
Bring your camera because you're going to want to take pictures!
Even on cloudier days, the beach view remains magnificent.
Just make sure you bring appropriate shoes, then — it can get muddy and slippery out here!
The unique rock formations out in the ocean are what really make the view.
These strange rocks aren't like other ones you'll see in Oregon.
And of course, you'll also get to see Tillamook Rock Lighthouse.
This deactivated lighthouse was known to be such a terrible working spot for lighthouse keepers it earned the nickname Terrible Tillie.
Make sure to look up the stories surrounding this historic lighthouse before you start your hike!
