When fresh air, sunshine, and fun are on the day's menu, you might want to head to Blue Lake Regional Park in Fairview, Oregon. This pretty park has all kinds of ways to stay entertained.

Blue Lake Regional Park covers 101 acres in Fairview. It's an oasis near the Columbia River, and you'll want to spend an entire day here.
Arrange your beach towel on the banks of Blue Lake's swimming beach and cool off on a hot, summer day. There's no lifeguard here, so make sure to keep an eye on the kids.
Kids ages five and younger aren't allowed in the lake.
For another fun way to cool off, head to the splash pad. It's got soakers, showers, and features that will dump water right over your head.
Take a stroll to explore the park's three ponds and wetlands, and watch for wildlife. You'll see all kinds of migratory birds, and might even get a glimpse at a raccoon or muskrat.
Kids will love the Natural Discovery Garden, where they can dig in the dirt, learn about the flora and fauna in the park, and enjoy guided activities on weekends.
Rent a paddle boat, kayak, or canoe at the park so you can get out on the 61-acre lake...
...and spend some time just hanging out and relaxing. Rentals are typically available from noon to 7 p.m., Memorial Day through Labor Day.
You might also try your luck at fishing! Kids 12 and younger don't need a fishing license, and the fishing pier is accessible to all.
Other amenities at the park include a playground, spaces to play soccer, softball, volleyball, and basketball, and a gold-level disc golf course.
When it's time for lunch or a snack, shady picnic grounds with views of the lake await. Visit Blue Lake Regional Park from 8 a.m. to sunset.
