This summer, escape to one of these amazing swim spots for an incredible day in the sun. Whether you want a swimming hole that you can drive right up to, or one that requires a hike, there is something for everyone near Portland. Explore these awesome spots to ramp up the fun this summer.
1. Blue Lake
Blue Lake is a popular swim spot in East Portland. Along with the lake, there is a large splash pad, playgrounds, nature discovery garden, paddleboat rentals, and sports fields galore.
2. Oneonta Gorge
Adventurers will love the fun in getting to this remote swim spot. Pack a lunch (in a waterproof bag) and hike in to this pristine swim spot hidden away from the world.
3. Opal Pool
Follow the Opal Creek trail to this hidden turquoise water paradise. Deep along the Santiam River, Opal Pool has small cascading waterfalls perfect for sliding.
4. Sauvie Island
Sauvie Island is a close-in location that feels like a world away. Chose from any of the beaches for a lovely day in the water, but be sure to pick up a parking pass on the island your way out to the beach.
5. Lost Lake
On Mt Hood, Lost Lake is the best. This quiet lake, tucked away on the mountain is a perfect getaway for relaxation. Hike around the lake, swim your heart out, or rent a boat and paddle your way around.
