This summer make a splash at Blue Hole Park in Salina, a truly unique swimming hole in Oklahoma. It's not very often you find crystal-clear water in the Sooner State which is one of the things we love about Blue Hole. Plus, the water is ice-cold making it the perfect place to cool off on a hot, summer day. You can visit for the day or stay overnight in your RV or tent. Either way, you'll never want to leave this refreshing place.
Blue Hole Park in Salina is a privately-owned park that is open seasonally during the summer.
The freshwater creek is very cold and refreshing. Visitors are allowed to bring flotation devices, lawn chairs, coolers, tents, and more. No alcohol is allowed.
They do have a concession stand on-site with food, drinks, ice, firewood, and more. The price of admission is $10 per car, per day...so it's a very affordable family-friendly place to visit.
The water is so clear you can see your feet. I highly recommend you bring water shoes as the bottom of the creek is all rocks.
You can even bring along your snorkeling gear and see different fish that live in the creek.
The park is home to a large swimming hole plus the creek area that feeds into it. The swimming hole can get pretty crowded on the weekends but there is usually plenty of space to spread out if you venture down a bit from the main area.
Visitors can also camp overnight in the park. The price is $20 to camp per car or $25 to tent camp with electricity. Spots are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Follow along on their Facebook page to stay up to date with the latest news and hours of operation.
Another great swimming hole to visit is Gage Artesian Beach - the largest swimming pool in Oklahoma. It is spring-fed from a lake so there is no chlorinated water. Instead, it has natural, mineral-laden water that's perfect for swimming in Oklahoma.
