Summer is coming and the day will soon arrive when you can get out of your car and enjoy the beauty of Turner Falls Park in person (the park is currently closed due to COVID-19). But until then, you can still take a peaceful drive and enjoy the beauty of the falls and the Arbuckle Mountains from the Turner Falls overlook. Keep scrolling to get a glimpse of the gorgeous scenery you'll encounter on your scenic drive.
Tucked away in the Arbuckle Mountains, along Honey Creek, you'll find Turner Falls. It's just six miles from downtown Davis, in the south-central part of Oklahoma.
Located in Turner Falls Park, it's a popular spot for swimming, hiking, sightseeing, and exploring. Outside of the park entrance is an overlook, where you can get a birds-eye view of the whole place.
You can drive up to it and stay in your car or you can get out and look through the large binoculars.
The drive to Turner Falls Park is a beautiful route, as it winds you along the Arbuckle Mountains.
If you are traveling south down to Davis from Oklahoma City, you'll also pass by all the gigantic windmills.
This unique waterfall splits into several cascades as it tumbles over the cliff above the drop. The falls are 77 feet tall; the tallest in the state. This spot is the perfect place to cool off on a hot, summer day, but it's also absolutely stunning to view from afar.
Once you see the scenery in person, you'll never want to leave this magical place.
If you can't make it down to Turner Falls Park, you can take a virtual tour on their website. Click here to check it out.
Once the park opens back up (closed due to COVID-19), you can explore an abandoned castle in the park. Click here to read more about it.
