In fact, we found the best ice cream in the state, according to USA Today, Travel and Leisure Magazine, Food and Wine Magazine, and hundreds on online reviewers. Check it out below, then take a trip to Tulsa and give it a try...we think you'll love it.
Rose Rock Microcreamery is a tiny ice cream shop at the Boxyard in Tulsa that creates homemade ice cream to die for. It was recently voted the best ice cream in the state and we couldn't agree more. Upon arriving at the Boxyard, head up to the 2nd level to find the shop.
Rose Rock is the first microcreamery in Oklahoma and opened in 2017. In just a few short years, it's become a hot spot for ice cream in the Tulsa metro area.
A microcreamery is a creamery that only uses all natural, locally sourced ingredients to create a variety of flavors. They typically only produce less than 1,000 gallons a year and are locally owned.
One of the reasons why it tastes so good is because every batch is handmade with only 2.5 gallons of ice cream at a time.
Making small batches at a time allows them to rotate their flavors often. You'll always find the classics like vanilla and chocolate, but new flavors are always introduced so be sure to stop in often to check them out. Chocolate ice cream with candied bacon is one flavor that recently made the rotation...yum!
The menu also has sundaes, ice cream sandwiches, large pints, soda, hot fudge and caramel and whipped cream. The chocolate chips cookies are also made in house.
Since every batch is handcrafted in small amounts, the ice cream has low air and more cream. You'll also notice the ice cream won't have all those ice crystals like large batch ice cream. Can't decide which flavor to order? Don't worry, they offer a flight so you can try multiple flavors in one order.
Other flavors you might find on the menu include, Madagascar Vanilla, Just Chocolate, Sage Salted Pecan, Lemongrass Sorbet, Mission Fig and Chestnut Honey, Rose Rock and Salted Cracked Caramel. They are open seven days a week from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. in
