If you're looking to get outdoors and enjoy nature but don't want to have to hike too far, then head to Natural Falls State Park in Colcord. The park boasts a 77-foot waterfall that is accessible by a short and sweet one-mile hike. Keep scrolling to view the beautiful landscape and hiking details.
Natural Falls State Park is located in the Ozark Highlands of Oklahoma and is home to one of the tallest waterfalls in the state.
The waterfall is easily accessible by Dripping Springs Trail — a looped trail that is just under a mile round trip. Not only will you get to explore a 77-foot waterfall, but there are streams, creeks, foliage, and wildlife along the way, too. There are also beautiful bridges that lead you to the path and ultimately to the waterfall.
Once you reach the end of the trail you'll come face to face with one of the most beautiful nature spots in the state. It's quite mesmerizing and a sight to behold.
The breathtaking scenery is otherworldly and is unlike anything else you've seen in Oklahoma. The trail will lead you to views above and below the falls, but to get down on the lower level you'll need to walk down 88 steep steps.
Natural Falls is considered the second tallest in the state and cascades over rock formations, creating a stunning atmosphere at the end of a V-shaped valley.
There's also a steel and wooden bridge high above the valley that you'll get to walk over on your hike. It's a great photo op spot, so be sure to bring along the cameras.
